Contractor value engineers with the EZ Valve R/W Insertion Process
The situation is similar to many municipalities with aging distribution systems: valves that will not turn to operate. And, like many other municipalities, the pressure to perform maintenance without shutting down lines is ever increasing. Boil orders, customer notification and customer dissatisfaction are all reasons to look for solutions to get control of the distribution system without shutting down the line.
The City of Markham, IL was faced with this same situation. Western Utility Contractors was contracted to repair a broken transmission main, however, the only operable valve would shut down the Eastern half of town. Shutting down the line was not an option so Bryan Thrun of Western Utility Contractors contracted with RMS to install a 12" EZ Valve to get control of the line. RMS finished in under 2 hours and Western Utility Contractors was able to continue solving their customer's dilemma with an AWWA approved R/W Valve.
"In situations where water cannot be shut down, my preference is to choose the EZ Valve. The durability and reliability of the EZ Valve Insertion Valve allows me to confidently guarantee the longevity of the new valve in my customer's system. I trust RMS to do a quality job on my schedule"
